The best way to deal with back pain is to prevent it. You can reduce the stress on your child’s spine by taking these steps:
- Always use safety straps in prams, strollers, and change tables to reduce the risk of falls.
- Encourage regular walking and stretching breaks when your kids are doing homework, because sitting for long periods can tire their back muscles.
- Stress the importance of good posture.
- Teach your children to sit properly in a chair with their bottom square on the seat and their feet on the floor.
- Encourage your children to exercise and make sure they warm up and cool down thoroughly to reduce the risk of injury.
- Set a good example by looking after your own back. Children learn by example.
